If You've Got Some Spare Time
I highly recommend that you check out Rosetta Stone. We received Mandarin level 1 and 2 as a gift, and all I can say is wow. I can now read Mandarin fluently, and I have to say, I'm pretty impressed. They don't lie when they say "total immersion". There's absolutely no translation, so it's immediately sink or swim. It sure beats the podcasts and the books.

I am so in awe of how quickly you've become proficient in Mandarin. Not only can you speak it fairly accurately, but you can read it, understand it, and relate it. AMAZING!
It's like in 'The Matrix' when they plug in Neo & he downloads a fighting program: "I know Kung-Foo!"
I'm really proud of you, and a little jealous. I've definitely got some catching up to do.
